What are you trying to make happen?
Start with what needs to happen. Build backwards from the destination.
01 · Enter a new market
What are you trying to make happen? You know where you’re going. What needs to be ready?
A new market changes what your customers need from you. We plan and run the multilingual work your expansion requires, whether you’re starting from scratch or extending an established operation.
If you don’t have a localization team, we can take responsibility for running that part of your expansion.
If you already have one, we can extend it: taking on a new market, a particular content stream or the additional coordination your team doesn’t have capacity to absorb.
The decision to enter a new market is only the beginning.
Your product needs to make sense to its new users. Customers need information they can understand. Marketing, support and sometimes regulatory content have to be ready at the right moments.
But not everything needs translating at once. And not every market needs the same approach.
Kobalt helps establish what the multilingual work needs to accomplish, what must be ready first and how to organize delivery around your business priorities.
We work with your existing people and systems wherever possible, building up the terminology, workflows and knowledge that will still be useful after the initial launch.
Because entering a market is one milestone. Operating successfully in it is what comes next.
From the work
A new market doesn’t always need a new department.
A US software company preparing to expand into Europe needed product interfaces, documentation, marketing and compliance content in multiple languages.
It didn’t have an established internal localization operation to manage all that work.
Kobalt became its dedicated European language partner, coordinating those content streams with a consistent team as the company’s requirements evolved over several years.
The client remained responsible for its product and international expansion. Kobalt took responsibility for the localization work entrusted to us.
Where to begin
Tell us which markets you’re entering, what needs to happen there and what localization capabilities you already have.
We’ll work out which parts Kobalt can take responsibility for and how to make the language operation fit your plans.
Tell us where you’re going02 · Launch something across markets
What are you trying to make happen? The date is set. The content keeps moving.
A product release, campaign or company-wide announcement has to reach different markets on schedule. We coordinate the multilingual work around your dates, within the systems your teams already use.
A product release has a date. So does a campaign or an important message to employees across countries.
But the content keeps changing. Different markets need different things. Reviewers have their own schedules, and every new version has to find its way through production and approval.
The multilingual work shouldn’t become another operation your team has to coordinate.
Kobalt can take responsibility for that part of the launch: organizing language teams, managing production and changes, coordinating quality checks and getting the agreed content ready for release.
We work with your existing tools, schedules and approval processes. Your team keeps control of the product, campaign or message. We run the multilingual work entrusted to us.
And not everything needs the same treatment. A product update, a marketing campaign and an internal announcement have different audiences, risks and requirements. The way we organize the work reflects those differences.

One announcement. One publication time. Twenty-five languages.
A global company needed its financial-results announcement ready for an international audience at 09:00.
Kobalt coordinated a multilingual team that prepared every language version in a matter of hours, ready for the same publication time.
The job wasn’t simply to produce the translations. It was to make one important communication available across languages at the moment the business needed it.

What are you trying to make happen? The document is not the whole job.
Some content has to withstand scrutiny. We take responsibility for the multilingual work behind agreements, disclosures and other critical documents, within your approval process.
An investment product, an accreditation, a regulatory deadline. The documents need to be accurate, consistent and ready for the people who will review, approve and use them.
The language work is one part of that responsibility. But when something is inconsistent, a question goes unresolved or the wrong workflow is used, the consequences can reach well beyond the translation itself.
Kobalt can take responsibility for the multilingual programme or a defined stream of critical content within your existing operation.
We work with your Legal, Compliance, Regulatory and Localization teams to agree responsibilities, resolve source and terminology questions early, and organize production and quality checks around the requirements of the work.
Different languages or document types may need different approaches. We make those decisions from the evidence and the agreed requirements, rather than assuming one workflow fits everything.

From the work
One regulatory programme. Different decisions for different languages.
A financial-services company preparing investment products for Europe needed key information documents, customer agreements and privacy content across multiple languages.
We tested the proposed translation workflows on real content. What worked for Spanish did not work equally well for Lithuanian or Greek.
We also identified inconsistencies in the source documents and built terminology from official European sources before those issues could spread across languages.
The programme went into production with workflows defined by evidence rather than assumption.

What are you trying to make happen?More capacity. Without more to manage.
Your localization team can be working well and still need more capacity. We can extend it, improve a workflow or add specialist capability, without adding another operation to manage.
It can still have more content streams, deadlines and coordination than it has capacity to absorb. Or it may need a capability that doesn’t make sense to build internally.
Kobalt can work as an extension of your team, taking responsibility for a defined part of your localization operation.
That might mean coordinating recurring multilingual content, managing language teams and production, handling quality checks or keeping deliveries moving through your existing tools.
Your team keeps control of the programme. We take responsibility for the work entrusted to us, including the day-to-day coordination that comes with it.
Sometimes the opportunity is to improve the operation itself: connect systems that don’t talk to each other, bring quality checks closer to production or establish a reliable way to evaluate AI-generated translations.

The starting point is the same: we work with what you already have and take responsibility for the part you need us to run.
From the work
The client had its own localization operation. We became part of it.
A major fashion retailer already had its localization systems and internal team. Kobalt took responsibility for a recurring stream of multilingual marketing content.
We coordinate the language teams, manage production and check deliveries inside the client’s tools, with quality checks supported by tooling developed for the workflow.
The client continues to run its broader localization programme. Kobalt takes responsibility for this part of it.
